A letter alone hides register and pitch drift. The page keeps octave, hertz, and cents visible so two readings with the same letter can still be distinguished.

Detection is evidence, not a vocal label

A momentary note does not determine voice type, comfortable range, or technique. It reports the strongest periodic pitch in the current microphone buffer.

Silence stays a missing reading

When the input falls below the calibrated gate, the page waits instead of extending the previous note. That prevents a breath from being presented as a sustained pitch.

Can it identify several singers at once?

No. The pitch engine is monophonic and expects one dominant periodic sound.

Why can a breathy note disappear?

A weak fundamental or strong noise may not pass the local confidence and level checks.

Does it send microphone audio to a server?
