How to check your vocal range
Warm up, start near the bottom of your comfortable voice, hold clear notes, and move upward without strain. The voice range finder keeps the lowest and highest stable pitches heard during this session.
- Use a quiet room and a clean microphone signal.
- Descend gently, then move upward through your comfortable singing range.
- Press Finish test to keep the limits and semitone span on screen.
What this test measures
The result is the observed pitch span for this attempt. The check vocal range calculation subtracts the lowest MIDI note number from the highest; notes exactly two octaves apart produce a span of twenty-four semitones.
How this differs from the other pitch tools
A tuner gives you a target and helps center one note. The pitch monitor draws movement through time. This singing range test waits until the session ends, then summarizes the lowest note, highest note, and distance between them.
Voice-type reference ranges
The label shows only the SATB reference range with the greatest overlap. Voice type also depends on tessitura, tone, transition points, training, and repertoire, so it is not a professional classification.
